On the last day of February, Norma has a brand new challenge to face. She had developed a cough and had difficulty speaking. Plus, her energy had dropped to a negative territory. We admitted her to the ER yesterday afternoon. The problem was that her right lung had collapsed. A tube was inserted through her rib cage to drain fluid and to initiate re-inflation of the lung. After a successful insertion her condition improved immediately. She is doing very well and is steadily improving. She will be in St. John’s for 2 to 3 days will her lung inflates and is sealed.
What caused the collapse? Doctors are not sure, but one possibility is that an enlarged lymph node next to the lung invaded it and produced the leak. We do believe your prayers, support, love and good thoughts for Norma will enable her to overcome this latest challenge.
